Bookkeeping · For business owners on Xero
Stuck on your books? Ask in plain English and approve the fix.
For owners who keep their own Xero file, OpsChase has an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant called the Business Books AI Assistant. Connect your organisation, ask about the problem in your own words, and get the answer and the fix ready for you to approve.
Pricing on request. Ask on a demo.
Why did profit drop so much in October?
Most of the drop isn’t real. Here’s what your profit and loss shows:
- Two supplier bills for October were entered twice (2,180.00).
- Fuel was coded to cost of sales instead of motor vehicle (640.00).
- Sales were steady, a little up on September.
Want me to prepare both fixes for you to check?
Who it’s for
Owners and operators who run their own books in Xero and hit a bookkeeping or accounting question a help article can’t answer, or who know something is miscoded but don’t want to touch it without seeing what changes.
How it works for owners
1
Connect your Xero file
Sign in to Xero from OpsChase and connect the organisation you run day to day. It takes a couple of clicks.
2
Ask your question
Ask why profit dropped, what a balance sheet line means or why a supplier shows up twice. No accounting words needed.
3
See the fix before it happens
When something needs changing, you get the entry before and after the fix, with a short note on why.
4
Approve it yourself
You approve, it posts to Xero and the change goes into your log. Supported changes can be undone if you change your mind.
Help with the jobs owners put off
Plain answers first, then the fix, always with your say-so.
Your numbers, explained
What profit and loss and balance sheet lines mean, what moved since last month and why, in your own business’s terms.
Miscoding fixed
Transactions on the wrong account found and recoded, so your reports show what really happened.
Contacts and accounts tidied
Duplicate suppliers and customers found and archived once you approve, and stray accounts in the chart of accounts cleaned up.
Corrections posted
Manual journals and other supported corrections prepared for you and posted once you approve them.
Overdue invoices followed up
The assistant lists what is overdue and drafts reminders in your tone. You pick which ones go out.
Reports ready for your accountant
Profit and loss, balance sheet and trial balance pulled from your file with a plain-English summary, ready to send before your next review.
You approve every change, and you can take it back
The assistant never posts on its own. You, or someone you name, sees the change and says yes.
- A before-and-after view of every change, with the reason beside it.
- Nothing posts until you or your nominated approver approves.
- Your log shows who asked, what changed, who approved and what Xero returned.
- Undo supported changes from the log, such as voiding a journal that was posted.

Ready for your accountant at tax time
Your AI assistant does the groundwork before tax time. It pulls the figures from your file, flags anything that looks off and prepares working papers for your accountant or registered tax agent. OpsChase doesn’t give tax advice and doesn’t lodge tax returns or business activity statements (BAS).
- Your accountant or registered tax agent gives the advice and lodges. The assistant prepares, it doesn’t lodge.
- Your bank feeds and reconciliation matching stay in Xero.
- Single Touch Payroll (STP) for your staff stays in Xero.
Your data stays yours
Your Xero data is used to answer your questions and make the changes you approve.
- Your business data is never used to train AI models.
- Switch a client to read-only if you only want answers for now.
- Disconnect from OpsChase or from Xero whenever you like.

Questions from business owners
- Do I need to know accounting to use it?
- No. Ask in your own words. The assistant answers in plain English and explains any term it has to use.
- Can it change my books without asking?
- No. Every change waits for your approval, and supported changes can be undone afterwards from your log.
- Can it do my BAS?
- It gets the figures and working papers ready for your accountant or registered tax agent, who gives the advice and lodges. OpsChase doesn’t lodge.
- Does it send reminders to my customers by itself?
- No. It drafts reminders for overdue invoices, and you decide which ones to send.
Bring the question that’s bugging you
