Trade measurement verifiers · Built for servicing licensees
Run your verifications, Form 6s and audit records in one place
Built for National Measurement Institute (NMI) servicing licensees and their verifiers: scales, weighbridges, fuel dispensers and flowmeters. Record the test on site and your Form 6 is ready before you’re back in the van.
- Prepares Form 6 and Form 6A in the NMI Excel layout
- Tracks the 14-day lodgement window for every verification
- Works offline on site
The verification is the easy part
You test the instrument, apply your mark and move on. The paperwork is what costs you hours:
- Retyping make, model, serial and NMI approval numbers into a spreadsheet that rejects a blank row or a date in the wrong format.
- Splitting multi-product dispensers into one row per meter, and making sure a weighbridge is recorded once, not as six components.
- Naming test reports VR-XXXXX_DD.MM.YYYY_1 and sending them in the same email as the form, within 14 days.
- Checking that every reference standard still has a current Regulation 13 certificate before it goes on a job.
- Finding three years of records the day an auditor asks.
From job to lodgement in four steps
Step 1
Book the job
Pick the customer site. Their instruments, approval numbers and last verification are already there.
Step 2
Test on site
Your verifier follows the test steps for that instrument class on a phone or tablet, with or without signal.
Step 3
Mark and sign off
The verification mark is built for you (licensee mark, verifier code and month/year code). Pass, fail or non-verification is recorded with a reason.
Step 4
Lodge and file
Export a Form 6 or 6A ready to email to NMI, with correctly named test reports attached. The record goes into your audit file.
Everything a servicing licensee has to keep track of
Job and instrument register
Every customer site and every trade instrument, with make, model, serial, NMI approval number, capacity or flow rate, and full verification history. One instrument, one record, even for weighbridges and multi-nozzle dispensers.
Test procedures by instrument class
Step-by-step test sheets set up for each licence subclass you hold, so each verifier records the same tests the same way, aligned to the National Instrument Test Procedures. Results are flagged against maximum permissible error as they’re entered.
Form 6 and 6A export
Verifications go into the Form 6 (one location) or Form 6A (many locations) template. Dates are in DD/MM/YYYY, approval numbers aren’t turned into dates, there are no blank rows and no merged cells. Test reports are named VR-XXXXX_DD.MM.YYYY_n automatically.
14-day lodgement tracker
Every verification starts a clock from its date. A board shows what’s due, what’s overdue and what’s lodged, so nothing slips past day 14.
Reference standards register
Log your test weights, proving measures and meters with their Regulation 13 certificate details on file, so the team can check them before each job.
Verifier credentials
Keep each verifier’s registration number, statement of attainment and the subclasses they’re competent for. The team can see who is qualified for each instrument before booking.
Audit-ready records
Every test, mark, form, report and certificate is stored against the instrument and kept for at least three years. Pull a licensee audit pack or a single instrument’s history in a couple of clicks.
Offline mobile for field techs
Built for weighbridges in paddocks and mine sites. Work with no signal and it syncs when you’re back in range.
Customer certificates
Send each customer a branded verification or calibration certificate and a reminder when their next check is due, so the repeat work comes back to you.
Built for verifiers, big and small
Scale service companies
Verifying retail, industrial and point-of-sale weighing.
Weighbridge and heavy weighing specialists
Weighbridges and other heavy weighing, where NMI asks for a test report with the form.
Fuel equipment technicians
Verifying fuel dispensers and flowmeters.
Owner-operators and multi-verifier teams
Owner-operators running a licence on their own, and teams of verifiers across states.
Your verification business is the client. Run jobs, instruments, verifiers, Form 6s and audit records in your own OpsChase account, and switch on only the parts you need. See scheduling and dispatch or how pricing works.

Questions from servicing licensees
Who is this for?
NMI servicing licensees and the verifiers nominated under their licence. That includes scale, weighbridge, fuel dispenser and flowmeter technicians across Australia.
Does it prepare Form 6 and Form 6A?
Yes. Verifications are exported in the NMI Excel template layout, with one instrument per row, DD/MM/YYYY dates and correctly formatted servicing licensee, verifier and NMI approval numbers, ready for you to email to NMI.
How does the 14-day rule work?
NMI asks for verification forms, and test reports for complex instruments, within 14 days of verification. Every job shows a countdown from the earliest verification date on the form, and overdue items are flagged.
Which instruments need a test report?
Bulk flowmeters and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) instruments (subclasses 5.2, 5.3, 10.1, 10.2), weighing instruments over 3 t (6.4), belt weighers (6.5), automatic rail weighbridges (6.6), wheeled loaders (6.8) and totalising hoppers (6.9). Reports are named VR-XXXXX_DD.MM.YYYY and attached to the same submission.
Can it track our reference standards?
Yes. Record each standard with its Regulation 13 certificate details, so the team can check them before each job.
Does it work without mobile coverage?
Yes. Field apps work offline and sync when the device reconnects.
How long are records kept?
Records are kept for at least three years and stay easy to pull up for an audit.
Is this made or endorsed by NMI?
No. It’s independent software built for servicing licensees. Lodgement still goes to NMI through its normal channels.
Can we bring our existing customer and instrument lists?
Yes. Send us your spreadsheets and we’ll import your sites and instruments.
Guides for servicing licensees
NMI Form 6 and 6A: mistakes that get forms sent back
Blank rows, wrong date formats, approval numbers Excel turns into dates, one row per meter: the Form 6 and 6A slips that send verification forms back.
The NMI 14-day rule for Form 6 and test reports
Verification forms, and test reports for complex instruments, are due at the National Measurement Institute within 14 days. What starts the clock, and why.
NMI verification mark decoded: what ABC0234K2 means
A verification mark has nine characters: licensee mark, verifier code, month and year. How to read one, where it goes, and how it differs from a seal.
Regulation 13 certificates for reference standards
Test weights, proving measures and reference meters used to verify trade instruments need a Regulation 13 certificate. What it is and how to track it.
When does a repaired scale need re-verifying?
A new keypad or a new circuit board? Which scale and weighbridge repairs need re-verifying before the instrument goes back to trade use, and which do not.
