Bookkeeping · Live in OpsChase
Fix the books in Xero by asking, then approve every change before it posts.
Bookkeeping in OpsChase runs on an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant that works with Xero, called Bookkeeping AI. Connect Xero, ask in plain English, and it explains the numbers, finds what is miscoded and prepares the fix. A person approves each change before it posts, and every change is logged.
Pricing on request. We set it with you on a demo.

Wages rose after two casual hires in week three. Rent is steady. Software costs dropped once the duplicate subscription bills were recoded and one was credited.
Two ways to use it
The same assistant runs in two shapes: one for practices that look after many client files, and one for owners who keep their own books.
- Practice Ledger assistant for accounting practices →
Switch between client files, describe a fix once and apply it across the clients you pick, each previewed and approved per client.
- Business Books assistant for business owners →
One Xero file, plain-English answers about your reports, and fixes to coding, contacts and accounts that you approve yourself.
How Bookkeeping AI works
1
Connect Xero
Sign in to Xero from OpsChase and choose the organisations to connect. Permissions are set per organisation, from read-only up to posting.
2
Ask in plain English
Type the question or the job, such as why wages jumped last month or which bills sit on the wrong account. The answer comes from your live ledger.
3
Check the preview
Before anything changes, the assistant shows the entry as it stands and as it would be after the fix, so the change is clear at a glance.
4
Approve, post and keep the record
Approve and it posts to Xero. The request, the approval and Xero’s reply go into the log, and supported changes can be undone later.
What the assistant does
It reads your ledger to answer questions and prepares real changes for a person to approve.
Explains the reports
Profit and loss, balance sheet and the movement between periods, explained in plain words with the transactions behind each line.
Finds and fixes miscoding
Spots bills and invoices on the wrong account and lines up the recode, one entry or a whole batch, ready for approval.
Tidies contacts and accounts
Finds duplicate contacts and archives the spare once you approve, and straightens the chart of accounts so reports group the way you expect.
Prepares manual journals
Drafts journals for accruals, reclassifications and corrections, with the reason written beside each line.
Drafts invoice reminders
Lists overdue invoices and drafts a polite reminder for each one. You choose which to send.
Reports on what changed
A monthly summary of what moved in the books and why, written for an owner or a client to read.
Your books on the OpsChase dashboard
Bookkeeping sits on the same OpsChase dashboard as the rest of your business, with its own cards and reports.
- Fixes awaiting approval, grouped by organisation
- Recently posted changes, with undo where it’s supported
- A plain-English note on what changed this month
- Who asked and who approved, on every change
Nothing posts without a person
The assistant prepares the work. A named person decides whether it goes into Xero.
- Every proposed change shows the before and after for review.
- Only someone with approval rights can post a change.
- The log keeps who asked, what changed, who approved and how Xero responded.
- Supported changes can be undone from the log, such as voiding a manual journal.
Recode bill · Cloud backup service
Numbatworks Joinery · asked by Sam L.
Before · General expenses · 89.00
After · Software subscriptions · 89.00
Reason: the same supplier is coded to software subscriptions on every other bill.
Ready for tax time
Bookkeeping AI gets the books in order before tax time. It pulls the figures, flags anything that looks off and prepares working papers for your accountant or registered tax agent to review. OpsChase doesn’t give tax advice and doesn’t lodge tax returns or business activity statements (BAS).
- Tax advice and lodgement stay with your accountant or registered tax agent.
- Bank feeds and reconciliation matching stay in Xero.
- Single Touch Payroll (STP) stays in Xero.
How your data is handled
The assistant works on the Xero data you connect, to answer your questions and carry out the changes you approve.
- Your data is never used to train AI models.
- Access is set per organisation and can be read-only.
- Disconnect an organisation at any time from OpsChase or from Xero.

Bookkeeping AI questions, answered
- Does it replace Xero?
- No. It works with Xero. Your ledger, bank feeds and reconciliation stay in Xero, and the assistant reads and posts through your connection.
- Can it post changes on its own?
- No. It prepares each change and shows a preview. A person with approval rights decides, and only then does it post.
- Does it give tax advice or lodge anything?
- No. It prepares the figures and working papers, and your accountant or registered tax agent gives the advice and lodges.
- How is it priced?
- Pricing is on request. Book a demo and we’ll set it with you for the organisations you connect.
See it on your own books
On the demo we connect a Xero organisation, ask a few real questions, preview a fix and approve it, then show where it sits in the log.
