Glossary · Contractor WWCC / Blue Card

WWCC and Blue Card: gate the book, not the inbox.

Childcare centres must control who enters while children are present. Electricians, HVAC techs, cleaners and grounds contractors are not educators, but many states still expect a Working With Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent screening — in Queensland, a Blue Card — when their work routinely brings them on site during operating hours.

Policies differ by state and role. OpsChase does not issue WWCC or Blue Cards. It stores screening status and expiry on each trade organisation in your preferred book, and blocks assignment or accept when your centre policy says clearance is missing or lapsed. Preferred contractors stay first; chase-to-proof still applies once someone cleared attends.

Pair induction, insurance and licence gates on the same record so a parent question about who was in the yard is a retrieve, not a reconstruction.

Define which trades need WWCC or Blue Card evidence for your network. Collect documents during onboarding or renewal reminders. Rank preferred contractors per centre; a non-compliant firm cannot receive the next job. When work completes, proof and attendance timestamps sit beside the screening snapshot for that day.

See contractor compliance for the wider document vault and vendor onboarding for new firms after RFQ.

OpsChase turns this into a working flow: chase your preferred contractors to done, require proof before a job closes, and RFQ with compliance onboarding when you need the market. Book a demo to see it on your sites — one location or many.

Does OpsChase apply for WWCC or Blue Cards?
No. Contractors obtain cards through their state regulator. OpsChase tracks what you require and blocks assignment when it is not current.
Can rules differ by state in one group?
Yes. Site or region attributes can drive which clearance fields are mandatory.
What about after-hours-only contractors?
Your policy sets whether clearance is required when no children are present; gates follow that rule.
